ALEXANDER HAFELLHER
Alexander Hafellher is from Austria, and has a lot of experience playing music in a big group and band. He loves playing wind instruments and he’s very good at it. Back home, he plays more Jazz and Classic music. Alex also taught himself how to play the guitar and the piano. He came across MES sight and dropped in for a visit at MES. He later decided to volunteer to give some basic piano lessons at MES. He usually has his classes in the evening when there are more Free Level students learning the piano. So far, the piano lessons seemed working out very well as we can tell from our happy faces of the students and how quick they get improve. We also do hope Alex is enjoying his time with the friendly kids and learn some thing new from them.

HELP US HELP OURSELVES!
Hello, MES would like to introduce one of the student bands at MES. This band is called ” DREAMERS”. The band has 5 members, Drum Player Mr. Noudeng, Guitar Chord Player Mr. Joe , Guitar Solo Player Mr. Katay, Bass Player Mr. Soulixay, and the Lead Singer Mr. Non. Four of them attended Basic Guitar Classes at MES and had ended up with completing all the levels, except the singer as we didn’t provide a singing class, but we did help with some advice. After, they became the free level students, they’re really persistent to have their own band, so they individually practiced on their instruments during the week and play together on the weekends. Week by week , by months went past and they’re getting better. Meanwhile, they have also done several pleasant performances at MES.
Lately, after MES 2nd Anniversary they were invited to play at one of the famous bars in town called ” LAMA SPORT” as a part time job and the bar owner’s generously willing to pay for their performance. The band was thinking for a while before giving a reply and of course they needed to speak with their families with such a decision. However, they’re quite nervous but really excited on their first night and the so the others. They’ve been playing there for 2 weeks so far, and they then sent their best regards to MES and all donors for giving them the opportunities to learn the basic guitar lessons and other instruments at MES, and Thanks for “HELP US TO HELP OURSELVES”.
MES’s so glad see the band could share their loves of music with other many people and use their beloved hobbies making some income for themselves.

VOLUNTEERING AT MES
MES provide free music lessons to Lao Children to let them have opportunity to access to the world of music
Would you like to volunteer at Music for Everyone School (MES)?
We welcome everyone who can play a musical instrument, guitar, ukulele, drum, piano, etc.
How long can you volunteer?
Any period of time, an hour, an evening, one day, two days and of course, the longer the better.
What will you expect to do in the class?
- You can follow our learning curriculum, by going in a class and help students with what they are practicing on
- Set up your own lesson, and this means you come up with anything you are comfortable to teach and you think that it is achievable, helpful for students to know and practice. To do so, you need to let our staff know in advance so we can inform the students who may be interested in your classes to stay after their classes.
Why would you need an extra class for your own lesson?
That’s because the students have a test every Friday, to complete their levels so they need some time to practice their lessons in their regular time and spend their extra time in the extra class with volunteer(s).
Certificate is on requests
The volunteers who may need a certificate to bring home, MES official certificate can be given upon the request, but according to volunteering time; minimum 30 hours and more than 5 days.
