SOME FRIENDS VISITING MES AND SOME DECORATIONS
MES CAFE IS OPEN AGAIN
Since the heavy has destroyed of shop, it took us a while to start a new one and now we moved the counter and shop to the end of the parking as there is an available space and there are not that many motorbikes to fill all the area. However, the roof of the parking is quite small and a bit tall so in the evening when the sun goes down, it goes through our shop and that is not good for our freezer. We have put up some cover for our freezer and make the shadow for it.

THANK MANY GUESTHOUSES AND RESTAURANTS FOR LETTING MES BROCHURES DISPLAY
MES was lucky that many guesthouses and some restaurants allowed us to display our brochures at their place and helping us introduce MES to many visitors as we can see could find us from the brochures.
Last week, we had Ji-Young and her friend and a couple from South Korea, Quan from Vietnam, Jesus Cortes, Anabel Sanz and a friend from Spain and Victor Jansson from Sweden. Ji-Young is a journalist in South Korea and she can play piano. She told us that MES is a beautiful place but she was about to leave Luang Prabang and could not spend time volunteering. However, she said she wanted to help MES to find volunteers and she was given an interview about MES. MES is looking forwards to reading a story from her and seeing more volunteers coming. Thank you Ji-Young!
These are Jesus Cortes from Spain, Victor Jansson from Sweden. Jesus Cortes spent his one evening and a morning on his way to the airport at MES playing and helping the students play the guitar. The students had a good time with him. Victor Jansson and a friend were staying in Luang Prabang a bit longer so they visited MES and played with the students for a few evenings and they have shown the kids some fantastic Blue style. Thank you all of you for a good time at MES.
COMPLETE PUTTING FOAM IN THE BAND ROOM AND MUSIC SYMBOLS
THE BAND PRACTICING ROOM: MES band room is gradually completing and looking better bit by bit as the materials are quite expensive. So far we have completed putting and filling the foam all over the wall and that helps a lot with blocking the noises. One more thing that we need to do to complete the band room is putting the carpet or something to cover the foam so it could block the noises even better and we will do that until we can afford to get the materials. By the way, we have students using and practicing music in the room already.
THE MUSIC SYMBOLS: We have putting more music notations around and at the front of MES and we think it will help our students to get familiar with those music notations by seeing them day by day and some of them have some interesting questions about what they are and interested to learn to read the music instead of getting in the classroom and start strumming or playing a song without learning the theory.
VOLUNTEERS AND SOME VISITORS DURING THE PAST WEEK
MES would love to THANK Adam and Bec Jen from Australia and Caro from Germany kindly for spending your unforgettable time volunteering, teaching music to the kids at MES during last week for a few hours in a few days.
These are our visitors who visited and played some music at MES during the past week. We had Dylan Bob and Janis from France, Jannik Moser from Switzealand, Ben, Matt Rabong and a friend from the UK.

Music for Everyone School, Luang Prabang
I have to give a special shout out to this wonderful NGO school in Luang Prabang – Music for Everyone School (MES). More volunteers are needed here to help provide tuition to very keen guitar and ukelele learners. This is a great opportunity to volunteer in a more original way than the usual English teaching or conversation practise. If you’ve got musical skills to offer, or even if you just want to pop along and offer your support or make a donation, Max the owner will warmly welcome you into his school and show you around.
A NEW INSTRUCTOR MR KHAMLAR
MES would like to introduce Mr. Khamla. He is our a new staff and his roll is education instructor. He starts work at 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
“Sabaidee. My name is Khamla and I live in Ban Khuathineung, Luang Prabang town. I like playing the guitar very much and I always practice, also I like listening to music. I have been playing guitar for about 5 years, and I have been playing with a band in several night clubs in Luang Prabang. Except my job at MES, I work part time in the evening in a bar, playing acoustic music from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and after that I play with my band in a pub until 11: 00 pm. I spend my whole day with music.”
