“My name is Toun and I am from a small village in Paklay district. It’s about eight hours by car down south  Luang Prabang and Sayaboury province. I just finished high school and came to Luang Prang to search for a part time job to make some money to go to university. I love music very much, and I wanted to study it when I was at high school, but there’s no school there. I’m so excited when I arrived in Luang Prabang and realized there’s a music school. I spend my evening and for extra English classes and practice music. Hopefully, in the future I’ll be able to help other students.”

ACOUSTIC DRUM SET OF SOULIXAY

Mr. Soulixay is one of our free level students. He completed his guitar lessons and got a certificate of basic guitar lesson from MES in 2014. After a guitar lesson, he took bass lessons and practice himself and with friends until he was secured and played in the band with others.  Later while he was having a holiday from school he worked part time and saved some money to afford his own acoustic drum.

Sometimes he also assist the MES teachers and help students at MES with acoustic guitar and bass. In the last few months when MES electric drum did  not work, he lent MES his acoustic drum for the free level students to practice. Now, he’s lent it to MES again. The drum students are very proud of him and his sharing, so are MES staff.  Very Appreciate!

VONGSAK’S FAMILY

Another generous local family that’s got to share!  Mr. Vongsak is a little boy on the left hand of his father, carrying a dark red guitar on the back. He’s one of our youngest students but very concentrate and respectful in the classroom. He’s been at MES for a few weeks and his dad is very happy with his progress and bought him a little guitar that just fits his little hands. Last week, his dad came in with his little brother and made some monetary donation to MES and wish to see MES keep doing such a job and keep helping others as long as possible in the future. Thank you Vongsak and family very much!!!

Nando plays very well bass and had a jam with some free level students. His partner plays African drums and it was very interesting.

At the end there’s group photos.
