NEW CLASSES’ STUDENTS
After advertising for the new classes. Some students suggested their friends and suspended students return to MES. The pictures below can describe how full our evening classes are.

WALKING PATH
SABAIDEE: It’s still the Rainy Season in Laos. It doesn’t rain every day, but when it rains, it’s quite hard. Some of the students who live nearby just walk to school with their umbrellas, but some come to school on their motorbikes or bicycles, however when they arrive at the parking they have to walk across the dirt part which was muddy and dirty. So, the dirty ground now is laid the white stones and the bricks to step on.

A WEEK OF HOLIDAY
MES was closed from 2nd to 6th, totally a week for the students, because of the Luang Prabang Boat Racing Festival. The mainly event took two days, the 3rd and 4th, but MES was closed for the whole week, because like this some of the students could go and visit their hometown and families. Some people took a day to reach their hometown or even longer. Also some people who have families in town could spend a special time with friends and families. However the director and other staffs of MES just took two days off and continued working for the rest of the week. Some constructions were done before the weekend as well and MES now has got a new, more comfortable parking for students and a paved path, as well as putting more lights in and around the school to make it brighter for the evening classes.

NEW CLASSES
As soon as the public schools start, all the students do not have time time to come to MES in the morning and afternoon, except the 12-1 class. So MES decided to open three new extra classes in the evening and the classes, the first evening class start at 4:30 and one hour in a row. After the decision, many announcement posters have been labeled on the information board in almost every public school in town. When the suspended student due to have no time heard about the new classes announcement, they are happy to come back to be a student.
A QUITE QUIET WEEK
We had a quite quiet week last week, because it was quite rainy and some students couldn’t attend their classes. Also the new school semester is started and some of them are students in the country are gone to their village for school. Although, there were still some students came for their classes and and some of them spend their extra hours in the practice room to play, learn and improve their skills with friends.

HELPFUL STUDENTS
There are some students who are really talented and skillful and they learn quicker than the others. More than that, they are regular at the school. Those students who are the fast learners always completed the tasks before the others, but then they help the weaker students which is really really nice and helpful.
A NEW CLASSROOM
After finishing the construction of practice room last week, MES director decided to change it to the learning room, because it’s the biggest room that MES has got and it’s good for the students to have more space to move, also for the teacher to move around the class. More than that, the temperature is not too hot as the old classroom.

THE NEW CEILING
Lately, we have constructed the new ceiling for the practice room and painted it. The work seemed quite difficult, but we got it done in totally three days. The practice room is now a lot cooler than before and everybody who comes for a practice is so happy with the new ceiling, as well as the director, the staffs and all of the MES students.
Even though, there were a noisy construction going on next to the classroom, we didn’t give up with our lessons and the noises couldn’t stop us. By the meantime we’ve got new students coming.

WE CAN DO IT!
Saying hello from MES Luang Prabang, Laos. Almost two weeks that we were doing the first step on Level One. Learning the step is quite hard for Lao students, because it’s the first time for them to peak about the instruments and understand the right positions and several techniques. Even though some of them can already play a song, they still have very lack of knowledge of the basic. However, after taking the first lessons so far and last Friday, everybody had their first Tuning Test and some of them are doing quite well both Ukulele and Acoustic Guitar Lessons.

After passing the test everybody seems to have more confident and belief that they can do it: “WE CAN DO IT!”.
MES HAS OPENED
MES has been open for one week so far, and we have full classes, and most of our students are teenagers. Some of them are from town, but many of them come from rural villages which are quite far from town. However, all of the students were doing quite well on their first lesson and everybody seems to be really eager to learn and happy with their work. Even though, there are many people who are on the pending list and waiting to have the chance to learn, because the classes at MES are too full to put them in. By the way, we have more than 1oo students come to MES to learn and practice every day and some hours the instruments are not enough for the numbers of the students. Wish MES students have more instruments in the future.
