THREE VISITORS
Leroy Arnaud from France came across MES on his way to a temple nearby. He stopped by to listen to MES students playing ukuleles and singing for an hour. Meanwhile, he was being showed around the MES and he fell in love with playing ukulele and interested to take a lesson. He spent some of his hours at MES to learn basic techniques of playing ukulele. He then also brought his two friends and showed them around MES and some ukulele lessons that he got from MES. But what a pity that he had to leave Luang Prabang soon. MES hope to see him again his next visit to Luang Prabang and volunteering teaching ukulele at MES. MES’s also appreciate your and your friends donation!
HAPPY WEDNESDAY
A SINGING VOLUNTEER
MES is really grateful with Beste Eris’ help. Beste Eris is from Turkey and she spent her several hours at MES helping the students sings some songs in English. She also brought some friends that can play guitar to help out the students. We also have Anissa and her family popped in MES and made a small donation to help MES.
A VISIT TO A RURAL VILLAGE SCHOOL
Thanks Jeannette and LEOT crew for getting a group from MES accompanied to visit a rural village school. That was a wonderful memory.
MES lead three students to visit a school in a small village in the south of Luang Prabang with LEOT English Learning Center students and director. The van picked us up at 8 am on Saturday and took us for about 2 hours to reach the village. There, we met many friendly little students from the village and villagers. After brunch the activity started, there was a pulling rope game and there was a running game on sticks. There’s also tradition weapon shooting that every can give a try.
After that everyone got paintbrushes and rollers ready for the painting. The painting took a few hours to complete. In the evening the village head man and some of the villagers arranged a Baci Ceremony to thank and wish us all the best for the visit. After the ceremony and supper, MES students were ready for a short Acoustic Song Show. We’re really happy that the kids and villagers enjoyed the show, knew the song we played and could hum along. After a few songs from MES students, we had some volunteers jumped up on stage and shared their favourite songs. That was a wonderful evening.
The next morning, we shared some paintings on the wall in kindergarten building, before getting back to town.
A PUPPET SHOW
Thanks Kathy and her friend from Alaska for stopping by and gave such a show at MES. This is the first time for everyone to see a live puppet show in front of them. The show was very entertained and the story was very meaningful. The students couldn’t wait to turn on their mobile camera and record to show their friends. After the show, the puppets were given to MES and the students are looking forwards to have their own story and show for the next time.
